School Supplies Delivered to Romani Children for the 2025 Fall Semester

This week in Romania has been extremely hot, with scorching summer temperatures across the villages we serve. Even in the heat, God gave us strength to continue our ministry to the children He has placed in our care.

Over the past several days, we visited four of the six Romani churches we have pioneered:

• Padureni (뻐두레니) Church

• Sterea (스테레아) Church

• Ghimpti (낌빠) Church

• Darvari (들바리) Church
  

As the new school year begins in September 2025, we prepared and distributed school supplies to children from impoverished Romani families. Each child received notebooks for every subject along with essential writing instruments—items that may seem simple, but are often impossible for these families to afford.

A Prayer Answered

Two years ago, the educational project we operated in partnership with Korea Food for the Hungry International came to an end. Yet the needs in the mission field have not stopped. Because of this reality, we recently developed a new educational support initiative for 140 children connected to newly established churches in Romanian villages.

However, when it came time to prepare school supplies for the fall semester, we had no budget for this distribution. So we brought the need before the Lord and prayed for a full month, asking Him to provide.

And God answered.Through the generous support of our daughter’s family, we were able to purchase every item needed and distribute complete school supply sets to the children.

Joy in the Villages

The children’s faces lit up as they received their supplies. Their joy deeply moved our hearts, and we gave thanks to the Lord for allowing us to continue serving even in a season of limited resources.

We are ministering with faith that these children will:

• receive a strong public education,

• continue progressing into higher levels of schooling with good grades,

• grow into healthy Christians,

• and become future leaders within their communities.
  

Next Steps

Lord willing, next week we will visit two more churches:

• Mihailesti (미허일레쉬티) area church

• Novachi (노바치) area church
  

We will distribute school supplies there as well, so that every child connected to our ministry can begin this new school year with dignity, readiness, and hope.
